How to install a custom Posterous theme

1. From your Posterous homepage, click "Settings" at the top right, above your list of posts.

2. Under the "Look and Feel" section, click Edit Theme.

3. Click Advanced tab on the top left side of the page.

4. Click the link that says Enable advanced themeing.

5. You will be prompted to save your new theme. Give it a name and click OK.

6. Select all of the code in the editor block, then ERASE it.

7. Paste the contents of the theme txt file that you downloaded.

If the theme contents opened directly in your browser (if the code starts with <xml):
Select All and Copy the contents to your clipboard.

OR if the theme file in .txt format...

ON A PC:
  1. Open the text file (ex: themename-v1.txt) using Notepad:
  2. Open Notepad, click File > Open, and browse for the file.
  3. Select ALL contents of the file (Edit > Select All, then Edit > Copy)

ON A MAC:
  1. Open the text file (ex: themename-v1.txt) using Firefox:
  2. Open Firefox, click File > Open File, and browse for the file.
  3. Select ALL contents of the file (Edit > Select All, then Edit > Copy)

8. (Optional) Click Preview these changes to see what your blog will look like with the new theme, before making changes public.

9. At the bottom of the page, click "Save, I'm done!" then OK at the prompt. You will be taken to your Posterous where you should see the new theme applied.
